On October 1, 2015, Chris Harper-Mercer, a student enrolled at the Umpqua Community College, fatally shot nine people at his college. The ages of the nine victims range from age 18 to 67.
Mr. Harper-Mercer walked into the campus on the morning of October 1 wearing a bulletproof vest and black clothes. After he arrived on campus, Chris went to an
English classroom. Once he was in the classroom, he first shot towards the back of the room before ordering everyone to lie down on their stomachs. “There was a spray of bullets followed by a lot of blood,” said Ms. Heu, one of the few survivors of this incident.
