Chris McCandless is a transcendentalist who from an abusive family. He has a goal to leave everything behind, and stay in the wild of Alaska for a few months. Into the Wild, Jon Krakauer characterizes Christopher McCandless as careless and passionate.
The first adjective that best describes Chris is that he was extremely careless. “...I found most of it in the van. He’d pulled it out of his pack when we weren’t looking and hid it under the seat,” (Krakauer 46).
