Family – Parents, who were not captured in the war as they were overseas when the invasion happened. As a result Chris doesn’t share the same drive to take back the town as the others do.
Relationships – Although the group become to accept him more as the book progresses, he is still considered to be an outsider and doesn’t really make any good relationships.
Interests – Smoking whatever he can find, getting ‘absolutely baked’, writing poems and poetry.
Appearance –Chris has long dark hair and is of light complexion. He is described physically by the others as ‘a total stoner’, which is a fairly accurate characterisation.
Strengths – He is very resourceful because of his wealthy family background, and is actually quite intelligent, and he is a clever thinker. He is really considered a genius by most people, although he is never able to apply those smarts to their situation in a positive way.
Weaknesses – He is hardly ever ‘on earth’ as 90% of the day he is as high as a building. He will gladly smoke anything put in front of him and is extremely unreliable and foolish. He is unable to comprehend what’s at stake in the story and can be considered cowardly. He sees the invasion as a chance to relax and ‘chill out’ as he doesn’t really have anything to lose. His parents are overseas, all his valuables are safe in his house and he has his smokes to keep him occupied during the day.
