Christmas in Chile is celebrated on December 25th and is referred to as Navidad. It is a holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. Since Chile is located in the Southern Hemisphere, Navidad is celebrated during their summer months. In fact, December 25th is also officially the first day of summer (book). With the warm weather families spend Christmas Day relaxing, watching soccer, having picnics, or going to the beaches.
