Christopher Columbus is not exactly the person our teachers told us about when we were children. Teachers continue to lie to children about how “amazing” this guy was. The teachers are doing their jobs of course but the problem is the tattered history books that we all used at some point. As we grew older we started learning about who Christopher Columbus really was, we do still learn about how he sailed the ocean blue. Yet, he didn’t really “discover” anything and he didn’t add anything new to the pool of European knowledge.
