Christopher Columbus undeniably had an immense impact on the world; however, different opinions stand on whether that impact positively or negatively changed the world. One sees this in the conflicting opinions of Michael S. Berliner, a historian who believes Columbus to be a savior, and Howard Zinn, another historian who claims Columbus to be a cold-blooded killer. Although both viewpoints stand, one cannot simply determine the effects of Columbus as good or bad.
