The general argument made by the author, Chuck Gallozzi, of “Individuality vs. Conformity: The Healthy Middle”, is that we should find that “delicate balance between complete individuality and complete uniformity”. More specifically, Gallozzi argues that most high school students want to fit in---yet simultaneously be different. My whole life I have heard it said that you should stand out from the crowd, and not be another copy. You would think that there would be something unique for each person; however, no one has ever explained to me about the healthy middle. The thought has never occurred to my mind. He writes, “But our goals are different. The way each person thinks and acts are different from the next.” Granted, I agree with Gallozzi
