Civil Disobedience is the active, professed refusal to obey certain laws, demands, and commands of a government, or of an occupying international power. Cliven Bundy is being forced to pay land fees for his cattle all because of the federal government and the BLM. Cliven Bundy is a rancher from Nevada, who hasn't paid land fees for 20 years. The BLM and the federal Government have been hounding him to pay or they are going to take his rancher and cattle. The BLM is the Bureau of Land Management, which oversees about 800 grazing areas in Nevada, responded by revoking his permit.
Cliven Bundy stopped paying his grazing fees 20 years ago. Bundy does not recognize federal authority over land where his ancestors first settled in the 1880s, which

Around 11:00am Bundy got on a megaphone and told his supporters to go get his cattle back. Local ranchers on horseback, militiamen in pickup trucks and others rode toward the corral where the cattle were being held. BLM agents, decked out in full riot gear, pointed guns at the anti-government group. The two sides jostled. Cliven quoted” We've progressed quite a bit from that day until now, and we sure don't want to go back. We sure don't want these colored people to go back to that point. We sure don't want the Mexican people to go back to that point. We can make a difference right now by taking care of some of these bureaucracies and do it in a peaceful way”. (“ This shows that Cliven Bundy is anti violent, and wants to going about cattle ranching a peaceful way.) In April 1995, he fight between the Bureau of Land Management and the ranchers who want to use the federal land without fees or oversight is growing more tense.At this point, Cliven Bundy has racked up $31,000 in fees for grazing on federal land without a permit. Helicopters often hover over his herd, counting up the cows so he can be fined appropriately.
