The purpose of the Civilian Conservation Corps was to give young men, ages 18-25 (17-28 later on), jobs. This fulfilled the “relief” part of the 3 R’s by giving families jobs during the Great Depression. The men would keep $5 and send $25 home to their family every month so they could survive. Another part of the CCC was that it created natural resources in rural lands owned by federal, state, and local governments. This benefitted millions of men, families, and animals across America by providing money and natural resources to every state.
