One thing I noticed after observing the different schools in Joplin, Missouri is that the classroom management styles between the elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools differ greatly. In the elementary schools the teachers handle disruptive behavior differently than the other schools. They handled it differently by telling their students to “clip down” (El 16). The teacher would tell a student to do this if that student was verbally or physically abusing another student or by doing minor acts of disruptive behavior. If that students keeps acting up than the teacher keeps having them clip down. The farther the student clips down the worse the punishment becomes. A couple of the punishments the student could get is a trip to the
