Another horrific case was the Cleveland Kidnapping Case. Michelle Knight, Amanda Berry, and Gina DeJesus were kidnapped By Ariel Castro, their neighbor. He used his daughters as a trick to get them to his house because all of them were friend with his daughters. The girls were chained and locked inside Castro’s home in Cleveland. They were deprived of food and basic hygiene. They couldn’t even use the bathroom but were given buckets to use instead. Amanda Berry gave birth to a daughter in 2006. On May 2013, Amanda broke through the front door of Castro’s home and ran across the street where she called 911. Police arrested him as he returned home. He was sentenced to life in prison, however, a month later he committed suicide (Aradillas,2017).
