In this experiment, the blue clippies were more likely to survive as they have the natural advantage of being better hidden in their natural habitat from their predators than clippies of other colors. Because they blend in more with their environment, the birds are less likely to see them than the clippies that stand out on the blue background. Since the birds see the clippies that stand out against the habitat first, those are the clippies that they go after to eat. When the clippies reproduced, more blue clippies were born since most of the survivors were blue- most of the clippies born are the same color as their parent.
