Clout is having a higher standard of stardom/fame which enables someone to influence people in your community. Usually political leaders and individuals in the music or social media industry have clout. When someone uses the word towards someone, it means that individual or group of people have such a hierarchy compared to others, and everyone has respect for those people. It is a noun and cannot be used otherwise unlike other slang-related terms. One sees the word clout in mainly pop culture. It is found in most rap/trap music and on various social media platforms such as Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, and YouTube. Some YouTubers have their own group and they call themselves “Clout Gang”.
