Who was accused of stealing Clyde Livingston's famous shoes? Who believed they were cursed? Whos dad created an invention for foot odor? Stanley! Through Stanley’s time at Camp Green Lake he changed a lot and his friendship with Zero made him change from a meek person to a bold person.

In the beginning of the book, Holes, Stanley’s character is meek. For example, “Stanley took blame for stealing the sunflower seed.” (Sacher, 90) Another example is that, “Stanley gave the lipstick tube to X-ray.” (Sacher, 62) The last example is that, “Stanley was sitting around while Zero was digging his hole as a part of the deal and X-ray started to bully him and he did not stand up for himself.” (Sacher, 117) All these examples show that he is not confident
