What is it?

Cocaine is a stimulant drug in the form of a white crystal powder. It is classified as a schedule II drug in Australia, meaning it has a high potential to be abused but can be prescribed by a doctor for medical use.
Cocaine is a highly addictive illicit drug. It’s more potent than other drugs. It creates an intense ‘High’, which becomes less the longer its been used. Its commonly used as a recreational drug. After cannabis, it’s the most used illegal drug in the world.
It is made from the Coca plant, which is native to south America. It can also be found in humid areas.

How does cocaine effect the brain?

Cocaine releases dopamine to the brain, which controls pleasure, giving an intense high. This high lasts for about 10 minutes.
