In this picture show this boy feel very hard to hear and maybe deaf. This because of his hair cell is damage. Hair cell is inside the cochlear and it a very important thing in the inner ear, it important because is pick up the vibration of the sound and send it to the brain. If it damage the sound cannot reach the auditory nerve. With cochlear implant it will help his hearing better. Cochlear implant will help send the signal through the hair cell that damage to the nerve. So without this cochlear implant this kid will have a lot of problem with hearing.
Sound is create by vibration, you can only hear it when the sound energy reach to you eardrum. Sound energy travel in the form of sound wave, there are to type of sound wave longitudinal form and transverse form. Longitudinal form is it`s disturbance travel parallel in the direction of sound travel, and transverse form is it`s disturbance is travel as perpendicular direction of the wave travel. Wave can be measure too, we can measure the wavelength, wavelength is the distance between one peak or crest of a wave and the next peak or crest. It measure by (m). Sound also travel in difference speed in difference media too, for instant, sound is travel fastest through solid because there is more practical to vibrate, sound is travel slowest when it travel through gas because

It will force the malleus and it will act like a piston and create wave in the fluid of the inner ear. To the cochlear, inside the cochlear there is hair cell which is use to send the signal to the nerve then to the brain, hair cell is very sensitive when the sound too loud it will damage the hair cell so when it damage the hair cell are unable to send the signal to the never. So there are many people got problem with hearing are mostly because of the hair cell. But with cochlear implant it will help your hearing
