This lack of a workforce allows for nearly every student that is interested in earning a degree in coding to acquire a job. Hadi Partovi who is the founder of Code.org a nonprofit focused on training and educating students who may be interested in a programming career estimates that 1.4 million jobs in programing will be required in the next ten years, while based on projections only 400,000 students will graduate with a degree in the field. This leaves nearly one million jobs available for anyone interested in programing. Teaching students programing in high school may entice many students to peruse a job in this field. The jobs that these students are perusing are not low paying jobs either. The median salary for someone with a programing degree is $75,550 while the 75th percentile is over $100,000. In fact, a software developer is the #47th highest paying job in America. These jobs are in such high demand that employers are willing to pay employees a great deal of money to work for them. Students that peruse a job in programing will not have to worry about not finding a job in programing either due to an unemployment rate of approximately 1.25%. Although it is not hard to find a job as a programmer people with knowledge of programing do not have to get a job at a company, they can develop software on their own, from iPhone apps to computer applications programmers all over the world are working fully self-employed. Everything on a computer requires code, and that code has to be written by a programmer, and due to the world switching to more of a computer based society computer programmers will always be in high
