Summary of “Cody on the Couch” “Cody on the Couch” relates to students work since it explains the differences between old generations and this generation's way of working. Carol S. Dweck discussed, in “Brainology,” how students have two types of mindsets: Fixed or Growth. Fixed mindset students seem to avoid challenges and growth mindset students embrace challenges. During the past years, there have been changes within students thinking. Having a fixed mindset will make you avoid the challenge since you will be concerned about not getting the correct answer and what people will think of you since you do not want to look unintelligent in front of your peers. However, having a growth mindset will encourage you to take up this challenging math problem along with other difficult challenges. This can have an impact in education because if students subconsciously have a fixed mindset, then there will not be as many students getting an education nor going out to look for jobs.
