In this lab, we explored density, which is defined as “the degree of compactness in a substance.” To calculate density, one would take the mass of an object and divide that number by the object’s volume. The higher the number after doing the calculation, the higher the density, meaning an object with a high density would be considered more compact or concentrated than an object with a lower density. This lab was designed to investigate the differences in densities between regular Coke and Diet Coke. My group and I hypothesized that the regular Coke would be more dense than the Diet Coke, simply because some component of regular Coke must be removed to create Diet Coke, like the sugar. To perform our experiment, we needed a can of Coke, a
