Should Colin Kaepenick have protested in the manner in which he did of should he have chosen a different manner to protest?

“President Barack Obama said Monday that ‘San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is exercising his constitutional right’ by not standing for the national anthem.”(Jone and Lobianco, 2016). President Obama showed his opinion that Colin Kaepernick’s way to protest wasn’t wrong because he thought Colin Kaepernick just had expressed his opinion by his constitutional right. (Jone and Lobianco, 2016). On the other hand, American flag represents U.S.A military and U.S.A. Therefore, a lot of U.S.A citizens think Colin Kaepernick’s way is a disrespect to U.S.A military, flag, and their country. (March, 2016) However, Colin Kaepernick might well protest in the manner in which he did because his purpose is not to disrespect his country or U.S.A military, he also needed this controversial way to protest, and last he just expressed his opinion by protesting by his constitutional right.

“The First Amendment of the United States Constitution protects the right to freedom of religion and freedom of expression from government interference.”(Cornell University Law School, 2016). According to The First Amendment of the United Stated Constitution, Colin Kaepernick has the right to freedom of expression. Although, he didn’t stand up during national anthem, this is legal. Therefore, the way he chose to protest is just asserting and emphasizing his opinion by the right the Constitution
