Families are empowered through family involvement. These families have strong confidence and always demand respect. In addition, these families strongly advocate for their children. Coleman, 2013, states “Families do in fact care about their children’s learning activities and are willing to work with teachers when invited to do so.”(p.221) Families are willing to collaborate with their children’s teacher when they’re given the opportunity to do so. The collaboration between families and the teacher are essential in order for the student to succeed.
