This Collaborative Digital Report focuses on rape culture in the college setting, striving to provide students in Queen’s University with a comprehensive overview on the issue. The presentation begins by defining rape culture and then proceeds to explain the origins of this socially constructed issue. It does this by critically analyzing attitudes that society readily embraces, including hyper-masculinity and the objectification of women. The acceptance of these beliefs and values in society help to justify sexual assault and prove its deep roots within social culture.
