I am an only child and it has been my parents' goal to help me become a "well-rounded" individual. They did this by making sure I was involved in pre-school, church, plays, sorcery, gymnastics, swimming, piano, etc. In Junior High I played volleyball in school and on a club team. It is a team sport which has taught me many life skills, from learning how to get along with difficult people, to be disciplined and following the rules. I now play softball, which I have been playing since seventh grade. As a senior and this being my fourth year on varsity, I can say that I have learned so much about the game and have become a pretty good outfielder. Early on in my career, I ended up getting injured, which my parents were actually thankful for as it did get me over the fear of catching the ball. It hurt a little, but didn't kill me. After getting over a little separation anxiety in kindergarten, I have loved school ever since. Things became bittersweet as summertime rolled around each year. I was thrilled that summer had come, yet at the same time I couldn't wait for school to start up again. One of my favorite days was registration day. I loved shopping and getting new school clothes as supplies and learning what classes I would have with my friends the upcoming year. My parents never had to tell me to do my homework; it just came naturally to me. I would come home everyday after school and go straight downstairs and begin my homework with very limited distractions. I can seriously say this went on until I was about a sophomore in high school. I still loved school and was very diligent with my work and dedicated, but I began to get more involved with my church group and circle of friends. We have an incredible youth group with so many amazing counsellors and mentors. My grades are still my number one priority, besides God of course, and I am very dedicated to keeping my straight A
