College is a very important part of life. Without an education, one’s opportunity can be very limited in this world. In today’s society, it is almost impossible for someone without a college education to get a good enough job to provide for their families and be successful. With college being such an important factor, no one should not be able to go because of not being able to pay for it. Although some may argue that tuition prices are fine because of financial aid, great education, and the fact that colleges need extra funding to help run the school, tuition prices should be regulated with caps because since the 1980’s the prices of tuition prices has increased drastically, since tuition caps were taken off the high price tuition has stopped people from attending college, and the high prices also causes a lot of debt for parents and students.
First and foremost, college tuition has drastically increased from the 1700-1800 to 2017. In the 1796, Thomas Jefferson had an idea to have an education system supported through taxes. Just because someone has a nice income doesn’t mean they do not need help. Parents have a lot of bills to pay for and other expenses, they still might need the financial help to send their child to college and if they are not qualified they will not receive that help.
