In the article, “Bystander Intervention During College Women’s Experiences of Gender Prejudice” its study examined four factors which included social norms, cost-effectiveness, distress, and feminist activism. Two-hundred ninety-one students both female and male college students completed an online survey asking them if they ever saw a woman being a target by gender prejudice. Gender prejudice happens everywhere you go. It can be a simple whistle, starts, jokes, and much other more. It is to believe that more than sixty percent of college girls experience some sort of gender prejudice. Ostracism involves three stages, being ignored, resignation and coping. “Observing Social Exclusion Leads to Dehumanizing the victim”, talks about how ostracism can sometimes lead to tragic problems like suicides and school shootings. Ostracism means who around by someone and you are being left out or simply being ignored by people. When ostracism happens, people watching are passive bystanders. Sometimes you see someone being disrespectful towards someone and they don’t do anything to help. We all been through that at some point. Someone probably got a flat tire and don’t know how to change a tire but you just watch him helpless. Maybe you and your friends are planning on doing something without one of your friends that would be fun to do. The guy or girl being left out will feel bad and will they that he or she doesn’t exist in their views. WE need to come up with a way to help other people that are in need and instead of watching someone getting hurt, dehumanize or left out we got to stand up and let them know that it is bad. We must understand how people watch others perceive the victim. With everyday social interaction, we can always see something going
