While some were hesitant to make changes in light of the attack, others were not. The Columbine Shooting gave others an example of a successful act of violence that granted the subjects fame and revenge. Some saw it as a mystical event and viewed Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold as idols. It inspired over eighty copycat attacks. Alvaro Castillo documented his visit to Columbine High School and his admiration of Farris and Klebold seven years after the shooting. He later attacked Orange High School in an attempt to imitate it (FBI, “Echoes”). Klebold and Harris incited tragedies in their attack as well as in the numerous replications of it that would follow.
