Collins said in his article, “Comedy and Liberty Lenny Bruce”, it stated “The Lenny Bruce story teaches us, among other things, that where comedy is the measure, we shouldn't take ourselves too seriously. Assuredly, we stand to be offended. But that is the price of liberty” (Ronald 23). What we can learn from Lenny Bruce’s trial is toleration. It’s true that toleration can produce bias opinion and insult our beliefs, but we should not always turn towards the law and take refuge. Instead of turning towards the law as a way out, discussing about controversial subject may change our view, and improve our understanding.
