Jennifer Elisabeth once said “I met a boy whose eyes showed me that the past, present and future were all the same thing.’’ In the perks of being a wallflower there is a character named charlie who is facing coming of age.Charlie goes through may things that make him a better person for his future .Charlie and his peers learn from other people's stupid mistakes so they won't end up like them . When coming of age, people usually find out what their limits are and what they understand while they are growing into an adult.

Kids are bombarded with many family difficulties that the student may not want to talk about and keep it for themselves to worry about. This is bad because hidden feelings could lead to depression, drug use or suicide. If parents aren't careful enough it may be too late to seek help for their child because they might be dead, For example the author in Factors Affecting Students’ Academic Performance states, ‘’External classroom factors include extracurricular activities, family problems, work and financial, social and other problems. Research studies shows that students’ performance depends on many factors such as learning facilities, gender and age differences parents, etc. that can affect students performance’’. This shows that many student have issues in school because of environmental factors and family issues. Poverty also affects the teens academic abiltiy and the way of living. For example the author Eric Jensen in Teaching with Poverty in Mind states that Children raised in poverty rarely choose to behave differently, but they are faced daily with overwhelming challenges that affluent children never have to confront, and their brains have adapted to suboptimal conditions in ways that undermine good school performance. This means that many kids act like that because of the problems they face at home. Also how school is making it worse for them
