Mongols Comparative Essay Led by the powerful Genghis Khan, the Mongols who are an East-Central Asian ethnic group native to Mongolia, had a tremendous effect on World history as we know it. However, it befuddles many whether their effect was more positive than negative or vice-versa. Many of historians have argued and researched whether they were barbarians that killed, conquered, and spread disease that killed millions, or peaceful people that preached justice and sparked technology and innovation.“While the Mongols’ political influence in China was definitely substantial in a short term, the Mongols actually influenced China less than they did Russia, which labored under a longer Mongol influence for centuries. Economically though, the Mongols had a vast reaching impact on both China and Russia.

Mongol rule in China led to political structure that was very similar to the structure before. This was by finding the Yuan Empire. This empire was founded by the Mongols and led to the reunification of China. It followed the dynastic cycle like previous dynasties. The Mongols thought that the previous dynasties had worked so efficiently that they might as well not change anything. There was a striking difference between China and Russia’s Mongol rule. Mongol rule in Russia led to the later influence of absolute rule by the latter Czars. This was different than China because the Mongol rule in China did not greatly impact the political structure later on while it did for Russia. They are both similar by providing a political structure that unified the people the Mongols ruled
