There are many obstacles that these men had to overcome to able to come out successful on their journeys. Charles Lindbergh also had to overcome a storm which was developing out in the Atlantic ocean. Lindbergh was forced to go around any clouds he couldn’t go over, when he attempted to go through one his plane started to develop sleet. Fortunately enough for Christopher Columbus he didn’t encounter any storms on his first voyage, but he did have the challenge of navigating through the Ocean in a straight path. Columbus didn’t have a radio to contact with, or a map to help him navigate, he only had the stars and a compass to help him find his path. These two men may not have used the same type of transportation, or the same kind of help, but they both faces different challenges which they had to overcome

Christopher Columbus was in search of a faster route to Asia, but he landed in North America instead. Although Columbus didn’t exactly find a route to Asia, he did prove that the Earth isn’t square, but a sphere instead. Charles Lindbergh hoped to become the first man to fly over the Atlantic sea alone and collect the $25,000 reward.
