Science fiction a genre that comes from the writer's mind and there mind can be very unique and usually not in the present. Two well known science fiction books are City of Ember and The Giver. They both have unique social structure but with some similarities.
Characters in the two books both have family units. Jonas, the protagonist, in the Giver lives in a family that consists of a Sister a mother and a father.Every family has a maximum of 2 kids. In the City of Ember, the city started out with 100 adults and 100 kids. Every adult was over 60 and were assigned a partner and 2 babies.
