The school has welcomed a new English teacher, Kaitlin Daniels. Daniels grew up in Sag Harbor, where she attended Pierson High School. Before coming to Greenport, she taught at Pierson Middle School. Daniels has always known about Greenport; as a child, she used to come out to the North Fork to go pumpkin picking with her parents. Daniels was inspired to come to Greenport because, “Greenport is a wonderful district with amazing teachers and students.” Upon arrival, the first thing she noticed was how small and close-knit our community is. “It centers around the school and the children,” she commented. Daniels is very excited to get to know our school even more and we are very happy to have her!
Next, we have Brian Holt who teaches a multitude of classes ranging from AP US History to Psychology. Holt grew up in Wading River and Calverton, where he attended Riverhead High School. Previously, he worked at Westhampton Beach High School. Similarly to Daniels, Holt has been coming to Greenport all of his life. As a child he would often take the Orient Point ferry to New London for weekend getaways with his family, and often stopped in Greenport before or after the trip. Gomez was born in Argentina where he lived until he was nine years old. The country was in complete disarray, especially since the civil war was finally coming to an end. He moved to the United States in 1990. Gomez has lived in multiple locations including Amityville, Copiague and finally Lindenhurst. He went to Lindenhurst Middle School and High School. While at Lindenhurst High School, Gomez was involved in many varsity sports.
