Hiroshima and Nagasaki DBQ The atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were some of the most disputed decisions made in World War II. The annihilation of an entire city with one bomb is devastating, and the deaths of many innocent people cannot be ignored. Even so, many classify the atomic bombing as a military necessity, whereas still many others call it an unjustifiable act of horror. Today, humanity still can’t get over the shock of atomic weapons, and the bombings are still debated. My answer to this arguable question is that the bombings were not a military necessity, but are still justifiable. Though not essential by any means, the bombings did further the war effort. Many American lives were saved, and time spent that would have
