Lasting from about 1870-1900 the Gilded age was an era of major economic growth, new technologies and new ways of manufacturing allowed few people to rise to the top of industries. America's national wealth increased but the gap between the rich and poor also grew. Industrialization is the method where a society shapes itself from an agricultural society to a society based on the production of goods and services. The Progressive Movement was a time period from 1820-1920 where social activism and political reform spread throughout America. Margaret Sanger and Alice Paul are two Progressive Era Reformers that attempted to solve the problem on the equality of women; their approaches to the problem are similar and also different.
