The Skilled Helper Model assists to formulate a plan of action which will help the client accept their responsibility to become a more effective person aiding their own inner resources. This model concentrates on encouraging the client to be self-directive so that inner strength can become stronger. When goals are accomplished Gerald Egan`s, Skilled Helper Model supports development in a major way, it allows the client with the opportunity to unleash and use the power they have.
The skilled helper model can also come under the umbrella of Brief Therapy.
The second model that this essay is going to outline is Solution Focused Brief therapy (SBFT), is often referred to as simply “Solution Focused Therapy” or “Brief Therapy” is an approach to psychotherapy based on solution building rather than problem solving, by Steve De-Shazer Solution Focus Brief Therapy is based on Milton Erickson theories.
