Both stories A Secert Sorrow by Karen van der Zee and The Sorrowful Woman by Gail Godwin are fairy tales. The Sorrowful Woman is effective more and shows how life goes with more love lives today. Not everyone lives a perfect love life, but everyone will overcome the hardships. Both stories are the same in many ways as well as different. The families and what they do different, how the men in each do daily activities different, and share how women feel less like women, since they cannot have what they want or know what is right.
