Andrew Carnegie was born to parents, Margaret and William Carnegie, November 25th, 1825. He spent the first 13 years of his life in Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland before emigrating to Allegheny, Pennsylvania with his family due to his father's home-based weaving practice being overrun by industrialism. For one-year, Carnegie worked in a loom factory before landing a job with a telegraph company, where he quickly became skilled with the equipment and was promoted to Telegraph Operator. With his skill, he began working for the Pennsylvania Railroad, one of the biggest companies at the time. With his ambition and drive, he quickly progressed through his career and became superintendent.
