Reflection I: After reading the facts off of Wikipedia about both Darwin and Wallace, there are a few facts that are very impressive about them. The most impressive fact about Darwin is that the science community did not accept his evolution theory until the 1870s, even though he came up with his evolution theory in the late 1930s. This fact is impressive due to the fact that it took the science community to accept his theory after thirty to forty years. Darwin had evidence to back up theory during his five years voyage on the HMS Beagle when he discovered fossils and the wildlife. Another impressive fact that I learned when reading about Darwin was that planning to attend medical school at the University of Edinburgh Medical School. It showed Darwin going to the Galapagos Islands and discovering the evidence for his theory that the species today are from an older, more extinct, species, as if they were in a family tree. Darwin focused on the mockingbirds after noticing that each island had a different kind of mockingbird. These mockingbirds helped him develop his theory about the changing of a species throughout the generation. He noticed the difference in the butterflies from different continent and began to assume the same as Darwin. Wallace was able to compare the species of animals, their location, and the reason behind why they were located in that particular location. This passage was very impressive because it showed how both, Darwin and Wallace, was able to come up with the same idea. They both developed a theory about how the species were all connected in a similar form of a
