In Comparing Edvard Munch’s The Scream created in 1893 and Salvador Dali’s Burning Giraffe created in 1937, on the surface the differences in subject matter are apparent yet they share striking similarities in composition and the elements they use. Style wise, Dali used surrealism, which was an art movement that originated in the early 20th century and sought to release the artist unconscious thoughts and creativity.
