As we communicate verbally, we lose information with time which makes it a terrible tool to exchange information over time. That’s why lab reports are used to communicate the results of experiments in a concrete and cohesive manner. Scientists and engineers use lab reports to stay up to date on relevant information and research. With such a plethora of lab reports, not all types of lab reports can agree on the same format. Some choose not to admit an abstract while others do, while some detail their procedures separately so it fits their lab better. Even with such diversity, lab reports do follow a similar structure. One of the most important points about the cover page is that it’s not meant for everyone. The title must be specific towards a selective group of readers you think will read your lab report. If it's meant for engineers, it should be written with term engineers know. They should be able to understand your lab report’s intentions without glancing through any other page. Not all my lab reports include a cover page, but they do contain a title. These titles may be hard for the normal reader to interpret since they are centered towards readers respective to the lab report. Lab report [2]’s title goes by as “Design of a Temperature Measurement and Display System using the 68HC11 Microcontroller” [2]. The title is a bit more technical and contains terms focused towards engineers or scientists interested in
