The histrionic, overwrought, Mrs. Bennet is awaiting the marriages of her children. She wants to guarantee that her daughters will be finically stable once their father passes. Elizabeth, her headstrong daughter, was proposed to by a wealthy man and politely declined his offer. Mrs. Bennet was infuriated that she did not accept the proposal and marry into money. Elizabeth is not like her mother and does not wish to take the easy way out. She is determined to do what is right and marry someone she actually loves.
