The Wednesday Wars, by Gary Schmidt, is a novel about Holling Hoodhood and the relationship between Holling and his teacher, Mrs. Baker. In the book, the main characters are Holling and Mrs. Baker. Holling Hoodhood is a 7th grader who believes Mrs. Baker hates his guts. Mrs. Baker is an English teacher and the wife of an American soldier.
