In 2015, Romanian culture emphasizes the importance of a good quality of life, and independence which emphasizes society being focused on feminine social norms. Female characters play a prominent role in the society of 2015 Romania, as evidenced by Nicusor and Jeremiah’s English teacher, and Mother Florida in the village. Careers are overlapped by both genders, women are seen in positions of authority, and men are seen doing work such as farming and tending crops.
