Introduction:
There are thousands of synthetic chemicals that are putting each of the products used from aging cream to body wash day to day these cosmetics can be more than just skin deep. UNCLEAR According to Dr. Mercola “Putting chemicals on your skin or scalp, such as getting a hair dye, may actually be worse than eating them. When you eat something, the enzymes in your saliva and stomach help to break it down and flush it out of your body. However, when you put these chemicals on your skin, they are absorbed straight into your bloodstream without filtering of any kind, going directly to your delicate organs. Once these chemicals find their way into your body, they tend to accumulate over time because you typically lack the necessary enzymes to break them down. There are literally thousands of chemicals used in personal care products, and the U. S. government does not require any mandatory testing for these products before they are sold. The Environmental Working Group (EWG) estimates that one out of five cosmetics might be contaminated with a cancer-causing agent”. (Mercola, 2010). A lot of chemicals are not tested like they should before they are put on shelves for consumers to use therefore the information on them are not fully taken into considerations for buyers to know. This paper will clearly discuss the effects of Alpha Hydroxy Acid and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate in cosmetics on human health.
What is Alpha Hydroxy Acid? Alpha Hydroxy Acid better known as ‘AHA’ is actually an organic compound, thousands of compounds are usually used in skin- care products for exfoliating properties Begoun stated. “AHA is a chemical which came from the ‘peel chemical’ dermatologist and plastic surgeons

Trichloroacentic and Resorcinol acid. Like roughness, wrinkles, and discoloration, causing the skin to lose its outer layer” (Begoun, 2008, p.1065). This usually takes place in a doctors’ offices, so that the doctors try to prevent skin burns from some acidic solutions. Some manufactures to market these mild versions of the chemical peels that do have AHA in them for salon and home usage. AHA products are marketed in different ways, with different purposes being served. Surface blocking and cleaning pores, wrinkles, and improving skin texture in general in an article Rosan said. “Although it is found throughout nature in sugar cane which is glycolic acid, in sour milk lactic acid and in fruits that have malic, citric, and tartaric, the AHAs used in dermatologic and cosmetic products are usually synthetically produced” (Rosan, ( 1994). No need to give his name twice just the year Meaning as natural as the ground they come from it is still taken to a factory where it is manufactured as well as combined with synthetic products fragment Use verbs in the present tense
Risk factors of AHA:
There are a few risk factors that have surface pertaining to these two toxic chemicals but in both it has been stated in several different discussions that the greater the concentration level in both chemicals the greater the risk they put on humans
