Sing You Home is definitely one of those books that I failed to keep my eyes glued off the page. This gives people a different perspective in the LBGTQ community. Zoe’s lifestyle definitely impacted the community she lived in and nationally. I could definitely see how this book could relate to clients we serve in the Human Services field. I could definitely find connections between clients I have already served. At the beginning of the book, Max and Zoe’s marriage is described. Max basically tells Zoe that she needs to accept Christ into her life and that he has to stop drinking. Zoe loses her childhood best friend and becomes really close friends with Vanessa. Zoe finally comes out as a lesbian and admits that she has never been with a woman. Eternal Glory Church has a lot to do with this controversy. Max brings a sister into the church to talk to Zoe out of her lesbian ways. Zoe leaves the church and both sister and Max follow her back home. Max is currently staying with his brother Reid and his wife Libby. Max explains that he always has been infatuated with Libby and finds himself kissing her in the kitchen in Chapter 8. Zoe decided to hire a lawyer by the name of Angela Moretti, who is strictly for homosexual parents. When Zoe walked into her office she saw a jar of testicles sitting on her desk. When reading this, I simply connected the two different cases. Even though Moretti stated that they did not have as strong of a case like in other states where gay marriage is legal, they still had a strong case. Another ethical disclosure would be Moretti stating that she is straight, but fights for the rights of the LGBTQ
