Medieval Europe and Shogunate Japan both had warrior classes in their social hierarchy’s. While Medieval Europe had knights, Shogunate Japan had samurais, which both were revered for their bravery, strength and skill in combat. Apart from this, they have many similarities and differences with each other. Knights utilized their weaponry and armour not as separates but as an extension of themselves, using them to provide protection and power. Swords played a significant role in combat, and were a necessary weapon used by medieval knights. Knights were obligated to learn and practice various ways of how to use a sword. Knights often used a sword in combination with a shield, allowing the knight to display both defence and offense. Similarly, samurai’s
