Everett and Odysseus both encounter “fortune tellers” during their journeys. Everett and his partners encounter the blind man on the train tracks. The blind man predicts that Everett and his partners will find treasure. Odysseus goes to the underworld and meets the blind prophet, Teiresias. Teiresias explains to Odysseus that Poseidon is preventing him and his crew from returning home. He also talks about the many suitors that are around his home and that all of his crew will perish due to their greed.
