In the two myths entitled Pandora by Amy T. Peterson and David J. Dunworth and Sun and Moon in a Box by Richard Erdoes and Alfonso Ortiz curiosity is perceived as a bad thing because it leads to change. The myth Sun and Moon in a Box is about a Coyote and Eagle who steal a box containing Sun and Moon from the Kachinas. The Eagle does not trust the Coyote with the box due to his curiosity. After awhile the Coyote finally convinces the Eagle by promising him he will not drop and or open it under no circumstance. “Coyote pretended to lag behind, hiding himself behind some bushes where Eagle could not see him.
