As Chuck D once rapped, “Most of my heroes don’t appear on no stamps.” Whether or not that means anything of importance to this essay isn’t as important as the song from which this line comes from, “Fight the Power”. This idea of fighting the power is exhibited in the three books Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, and Animal Farm by George Orwell. These books, all written at different times in history and in very different places and settings, and had this theme in common. Power and restriction can bring good things and peace, but sometimes they can become very containing and upsetting, such as in Animal Farm where Farmer Jones runs the farm with an iron, unfair fist, and has way too much power until the
