The Ball Poem and Quinceanera In Quinceanera and The Ball Poem, both works illustrate a coming of age story that has a darker meaning to growing up. This is seen through the word choices made by the authors and imagery used to describe their exit from childhood. Through the use of symbolism and diction, Judith Cofer and John Berryman, tell their stories of coming of age as a dark and depressing moment.
